Electric blankets, electric heaters ……, Chinese turtleneck sweaters are also on fire in Europe!
According to Red Star News, recently, French President Macron wore a turtleneck sweater in a video speech, a change in the dress style of the usual suit with a shirt, triggering a hot debate. There are reports that Macron’s move is to lead by example, calling on the majority of French people to strengthen physical warmth, reduce energy use in winter, and work together to deal with the European energy crisis.

It’s very good to help save energy and contribute to energy conservation.” Le Maire, who is second only to the prime minister in the order of protocol for members of the government, also posted a photo of himself wearing a turtleneck sweater while working in his office on his official social account after the program.
Ltd. has been engaged in foreign trade for more than ten years, Mr. Luo has felt the “turtleneck sweater boom”. He told reporters, since the European energy crisis, the company’s European market sales data is relatively impressive, thickened jackets and turtleneck sweater orders increased rapidly, “the last 30 days, the search volume of men’s autumn turtleneck sweater rose 13 times”.
Chinese turtleneck sweaters sell out in Europe
According to Red Star News, in order to spend the winter smoothly in the environment of energy crisis, many Europeans who are used to heating have to start buying more items to keep warm. This trend has triggered a boom in the sale of electric blankets and kettles produced in China in Europe in recent times, while turtleneck sweaters have become a popular item because of Macron.
The reporter contacted Mr. Luo, the person in charge of Xiamen Juze Import & Export Co., Ltd, whose company has been engaged in the export business of garments from European countries for more than ten years.
Mr. Luo told reporters that since the European energy crisis, the company’s sales data in the European market is relatively impressive, with orders for thick jackets and turtleneck sweaters increasing rapidly, and sales in European countries are basically flat, with an increase in the return of orders from the B-side (corporate users) and an upward trend in sales of C-side (individual users, consumers) warmth products. In the last 30 days alone, the search volume of men’s fall turtleneck sweaters in the company’s online store has gone up 13 times.
“I have friends in Guangdong doing foreign trade, exporting electric blankets, electric kettles and other warming items to Europe. Due to this year’s abnormal climate and potential energy crisis, they predicted this sales boom early and started preparing for it since April, and worked overtime production almost every day in May and June.” He added. However, Mr. Luo judged that this wave of sales boom may soon fade away, “after all, the winter is only two or three months, and some European countries are also ready to start a plan to deal with the crisis.”
As the foreign trade industry is greatly affected by international environmental factors, the global outbreak of the new crown epidemic will undoubtedly have a huge impact on Chinese foreign trade enterprises. According to Mr. Luo, “The company resumed production in the second half of 2020, but the foreign epidemic started to become serious and (our) goods could not be sent out. And sea freight costs skyrocketed, with a small container to the U.S. rising directly from more than $4,000 to $20,000.” But from the second half of 2021, online business in Europe and the United States began to develop well, and foreign trade in ready-to-wear saw explosive growth, with his company’s business on the C-sides such as Amazon exploding.
Mr. Luo said he has always been confident in China’s foreign trade industry because he is “convinced that there is no substitute for Made in China around the world. He told reporters that China’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) until now, the entire foreign trade system and production system has developed to a “perfection”, the regionalization of products, product chain segmentation are highly developed, and the resources of products have been divided into very fine, as long as the world has consumer demand, the foreign trade industry will not disappear.
